Why this page exists

This site accompanies sessions about using AI while protecting learning, so it holds itself to the transparency it asks of educators: this page documents what on the site was AI-generated, with what category of tool, and under whose review. All content was directed, reviewed, and approved by the site's author, Matthew A. Zinn.

AI-generated and AI-assisted media

• Original short films. The presentation's two original films were produced with AI video, image, music, and voice tools. The narration voice in the opening film is the author's own consented synthetic voice, and the film discloses that on screen.
• Workshop artifacts. The Shortcut Lab's four “AI-generated first pass” sample artifacts are fictional workshop submissions generated in advance with a commercial AI assistant and typeset only. They are labeled as AI-generated where they appear and contain no student data.
• Standards maps. The pre-built maps in the Unpacking Standards tool were AI-assisted at build time, grounded in cited research, and served as static files. The page itself calls no AI model.
• Game audio. The voice cues in the Fair-Share Factory game were generated with a commercial text-to-speech service. No child's voice was recorded or cloned.

Typography and design

The site uses system font stacks—Georgia for display serif and Trebuchet MS for text—so no third-party font files are loaded. The visual system (paper, ink, amber, and pine tones) was designed for this project.

Technology

Built with Next.js and React, and served on Cloudflare's edge network with a small database that powers live conference polling. There are no analytics scripts, ad networks, or tracking cookies; see the Privacy Policy.

How this site was built

The site's content, scenarios, and pedagogy were authored by Matthew A. Zinn, with substantial AI-assisted software development used for code generation and iteration. The same standard the site asks of educators applied here: AI was a tool in the workflow, and final decisions and review were the author's.

Sources and third-party material

Research, journalism, and policy documents referenced across the site are credited where they appear, with the fullest trail on the Resources page. Third-party names and marks remain the property of their respective owners.

Book covers, publication imagery, report covers, and video thumbnails in the resource library are reproduced for identification, criticism, and source navigation. Their source, dimensions, checksum, rights note, and alt text are recorded in the visual-provenance manifest. Those third-party images are excluded from the site's Creative Commons license.
